1. What are your thoughts on texting in social situations?
To be honest, I am someone who texts everywhere I go no matter where I am & what situation I am in. Everywhere I go there are many people walking and texting or just sitting and texting. Myself, I do text quite often and I know that it's boring waiting for something or someone so I would instantly pull out my phone. But to be texted ALL the time, like when you're with your friends or eating & have something to do, texting should not be a distraction. Texting now a days have become peoples main priorities.
2. Do you find it rude if you’re talking to somebody and they proceed to text continuously on their cell phone?
In my opinion, I do not find it rude because I do it myself. But in other peoples perspectives and just in general, it is a very rude thing to be doing. When you're talking to someone, you would expect them to be respectful and give you their full attention. Although someone is texting, you may think that they are still listening, but most of the time, they are not. Personally I am someone you texts non-stop and people have learned not to talk to me while I am texting because 99.9% of the time, the outside world is blocked out when I am texting.
3.If you had to come up with a list of five etiquette rules for texting, what would they be?
If I were to come up with a list of five etiquette rules for texting, they would be ...
- When with people, only bring out your phone when needed.
- When eating in public, be respectful of the people around you & not text.
- If someone's trying to talk to you, give them your full attention.
- When waiting for something or someone, be mindful of what's happening around you & don't get too distracted by your texting.
- Make sure people around you are warned that you are texting so that they don't talk to you. :)
Lovely lovely post :) I totally agree with what you were saying. meow.
