1. Why do you think people are portrayed this way in the media?
I think people are portrayed this way in the media because they want a lot of people to buy their product, and with a person that used it looking perfect, it'll make the person buy their item. They do this because they want someone looking very perfect for that one little product, if the person is too fat or too small, they will fix it up just like the picture of the example of how one of the photo editors did the same thing to one of their colleagues at the National Post.
2. How are you affected by the images you see?
I'm affected by the images I see because I don't want someone to change me just for the good of them self and for them to get money. It affects me because, I want people to see the real me, not someone that's fixed up a lot if I was to model. I'm affected because seeing someone being fixed up so much, it's just sad that the company can't just leave the littlest bad detail of that model. And also, thinking of all the people who want to model but can't cause their "too fat" or "too short" it's just way to mean.
3. What can be done to reduce the amount of young men and women that are negatively affected by these images?
The only thing that can be done it just think positive of yourself. Why think negative? It's just a lie. Thinking positive, will make you smile, and make people around you smile. Thinking positive like saying "oh I'm looking gorgeous today" or "oh I'm not fat" keeping those in mind will carry you on with a smile throughout the whole day.
4. What would your reaction be to a magazine cover where the subject isn’t all glammed up? Is this a possible route that society should take? Why or why not?
My reaction would be VERY shocked, but a bit proud of the company. Shocked because everyone does it basically. It's just very hard to see someone not fixed. It is a possible route because if the product really does make you "beautiful" without no fix ups, people really would buy it but it would be difficult because they'd want proof.
I think that you 2nd answer is truly powerful, you should tell that to everyone in the world.
